“I just finished House of Despicable Beauty…you are killing me with that ending….start writing sequel! I am hooked!”
“Am reading the first of the trilogy (Jordan’s War -1861) and LOVING it! The family has won my heart….I just don’t want any of them to die….”
I’m beyond thrilled and very humbled.
You can get House of Despicable Beauty as an e-book for introductory price of $2.99 for only a little while longer. After that, the price is going to it’s standard price of $3.69 per book starting in October because . . . . HOUSE OF DESPICABLE BEAUTY is going to press! That’s right folks, HODB will be available in paperback probably mid-October! I’m so excited.
In other family news, today I took Lizzy to the periodontist to have the next phase of her dental implants put into her mouth. Back in April or May, I really can’t remember, she had bone graphs. Her face swelled horribly, but she was the cutest thing. I’d post a picture, but she’d kill me.
This time it was the actual screw being inserted into the gum and bone so the permanent tooth can be screwed on. Now the only thing left is the actual teeth, but she can’t get those until early 2014 because her gums have to heal. She’s starting to swell again and hopefully the pack of frozen hot dogs she keeps holding to her face will keep the swelling down. Hey, our family doesn’t eat frozen peas and it was the next best thing I could find. Guess what we’re having for dinner tomorrow night. Yep, hot dogs on the grill.
Jimmy rode the school bus home for the first time ever. Yes, that big, yellow transportation vehicle that cruises by our house twice daily providing free rides to school children finally had the ass of a Birch kid on it. And . . . he lived to tell about it. (cue angel chorus). *sniff* he’s so brave.
I had to throw my bitch down at the high school. Lizzy has an AP English class that required me to purchase two books – totaling more than $60.00! Now anyone who knows me knows I’m not shy about spending money on books, but shit, the books on the list were out of print and only sold on Amazon through re-sellers. I felt it was a bit too much money for one class. A class that she tried to get out of, but couldn’t.
She signed up to take them last spring and now, since she’s committed to UNCC, she doesn’t have to apply to college. She only needs to maintain her GPA and score well on her SAT. She already scored well enough to get into UNCC and other schools on her PSAT. Honors courses would do. But I learned that CMS gets $700.00 for each kid enrolled in these AP classes and once a student signs up for them, it’s takes death to get out of them. It’s all about the money.
I won’t have to worry about Jimmy taking AP courses. He’s probably allergic to them. :).
Whelp, it’s getting late and I better go get lunches packed and set the coffee pot. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening.
